What blackheads are and how they cause?

Blackheads are obstructive pores; pores are the pathway for oil to exit from skin on to the skin; this oil is important for your skin to keep it healthy and moisturized. However, this oil is really important for keeping your skin healthy, but what happens if the oil get stuck under you skin?

If the oil gets stuck on your skin, this will produce blackheads due to the blockage by a mixture of dead skin cells, oil, and bacteria. When this mixture gets exposed to the air, this blockage of the pore gets discolored by oxidation and goes black.

Dermatologists often refer blackheads as an open comedo, and several blackheads together are called comedones, as the pores in which they are situated are open to the air and oxidization has taken place which makes the blackhead looks black.

Conversely, whiteheads are referred to as closed comedones because the pore is not open to the air and so no oxidization has happened, and the content is still light colored.

Many people are in the myth that blackheads cause due to only dirt.   • Cleansing:

  • Steaming :

Face steam and steaming bath is recommended for the removal of blackheads. However, this has not been confirmed by research. So do not try steaming without any proper knowledge and confirmation.

  • Scrubbing:

Scrubbing can lead to more blockages and the risk of inflammatory acne. Many of us think that scrubbing blackheads will remove them away forever. Blackheads do not go in one day and scrubbing them out regularly will irritate or can damage your skin.
